Bereavement Group
Our school bereavement group gives pupils a safe, supportive space to talk about their feelings and make sense of their loss in an age-appropriate way. The group is led by trained staff who understand how pupils experience grief and know how to support them sensitively.
Being with other pupils who have experienced something similar helps them feel less alone and reassures them that their emotions are normal. Through talking, play and creative activities, pupils are supported to express themselves and learn healthy ways to manage their feelings. Because this support takes place in a familiar and trusted environment, it helps pupils feel secure, supports their emotional wellbeing and can make a positive difference to their confidence and engagement in learning.
Health Schools Award
We are delighted to share some fantastic news - Henry Chichele Primary School has been awarded the Healthy Schools Silver Award. This is a wonderful achievement and reflects the hard work and commitment of our staff, pupils and wider school community.
Since the Summer Term 2025, we have been working on a school improvement project focused on developing pupils’ wellbeing, behaviour and sense of safety in school. The Healthy Schools Silver Award recognises schools that can demonstrate a positive impact on pupils’ health, wellbeing, behaviour and engagement, and we are very proud that our work has been recognised in this way.
We would like to thank you for your ongoing support. Working closely with families is a vital part of promoting children’s health and wellbeing and this award reflects what we can achieve together.

Empathy Week
As part of Empathy week, KS2 also read 'Geoffrey gets the Jitters'. We discussed how our worries might feel and ways that we can overcome them. We then made our own Jitters at lunchtime. We talked about our jitters and how they are so much easier to manage if we share them with someone.

Grand Hotel of Feelings
During Term 5 children were asked to help find the feelings for the 'Grand Hotel of Feelings'
During their break and lunchtimes, they were asked to see if they could find a stone, and then hide it again for someone else! Which feelings would they find? Joy? Peace? Gratitude? Or perhaps Fear, Anger or Sadness.
The serious stuff: They were then asked to hide the stones in accessible (safe!) spaces. They are for everyone to enjoy.
The Grand Hotel of Feelings is a really lovely book if you'd like to read it! 🙂
