School Meals

School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme (SFVS)

The School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme (SFVS) is a government programme that entitles every child in England, aged 4-6 in fully state-funded schools to a piece of fruit or vegetable each school day, this equates to approximately 2.3m children in approximately 16,300 schools.

All pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 have a daily choice of fresh fruit or vegetables.

KS2 pupils may bring a healthy snack for breaktime (no cereal bars please).

The children at our school have the option of bringing a packed lunch or eating a hot meal. Universal Infant Free School Meals are currently available for all children in Key Stage 1 (Reception, Years 1 and 2). Do remember that our  supplier, Love Food, also provide a packed lunch or wrap option if you would prefer.

Packed Lunch

Our school has been awarded the Northamptonshire Healthy Schools Award.  As a result there is an expectation that the contents of your child’s lunch box will be as healthy as possible.  We often talk to the children about healthy options and the reasons why it is important to eat healthily.  We would like your support to make this a reality at lunchtime.  Please do not put Fizzy drinks or sweets in your child’s lunchbox as these are not acceptable. The NHS provide information on how to pack a healthy lunchbox, through the Change for Life campaign!

We also politely request that parents DO NOT provide children peanut butter or nut related products in their lunchboxes as we do have children who attend our school that are allergic to these products.

Hot Meals

Our provider since September 2016 is Love Food. We are delighted to announce that they achieved their GOLD award in April 2018.
